REMARKS
Also known as prawn killers, Mantis Shrimps are voracious predators feeding on other crustaceans and small fish.
They live amongst the coral and in burrows in the sand. The claws on these creatures are quite formidable and come in to forms - clubs or spears.
Shrimps possessing club claws use them to smash the legs off other crustaceans and to crack open the shell. Those with spear-like claws can strike and kill fish and other animals at a speed of a 0.22 calibre bullet.

Corals
Whilst you are at the reef, have a close look at the different types of coral. Staghorn corals form vast beds in the protected shallow lagoons, and are one of the most abundant and colourful of all corals. Boulder corals are solid and can be very old (up to 1000 years), with soft corals occupying the reef flats and reef fronts as they are more adept at dealing with wave motion.
