REMARKS
Sponges are one of the most ancient animals inhabiting the reef. They comprise the major part of the diet of the endangered hawksbill turtle.
For many years Scientists thought sponges were plants becasue they could not work how how they feed.
Sponges filter the equivalent of their own volume of water every 4-20 seconds (up to 5,000 litres per day).

How do Fish See
Fish have eyes very similar to a human, but not all have excellent colour vision. Shallow water fish, especially tropical fish, can see a broad spectrum of colours, however deep water fish are usually quite limited. Fish's eyes are positioned to allow excellent all round viewing, but some have their eyes on top of their heads, as they have a bottom dwelling existence.
